'Jamie's my world': Louise Redknapp 'isn't worried' about Strictly Come Dancing 'curse'
Louise Redknapp isn't bothered about the so-called curse of Strictly Come Dancing because her husband Jamie Redknapp is her "world".
The former Eternal singer has been paired with professional dancer Kevin Clifton for the upcoming series of the U.K. reality show, which begins in earnest on 23 September.
The show has been considered 'cursed' in recent years due to relationship breakdowns which have occurred while celebrities take part in the show, or shortly after. Rugby player Ben Cohen, split from his wife after the show ended and subsequently began dating his partner Kristina Rihanoff, and most recently, 2015 contestant Georgia May Foote, dumped her actor boyfriend Sean Ward and soon after began dating her Strictly dance partner Giovanni Pernice.
Louise, who married Jamie in 1998 - the couple they two sons Charles, 12, and Beau, seven - isn't concerned about the 'curse' because her marriage to the former soccer star is rock solid.
She said, "The 'curse' of Strictly doesn't worry me," she said, according to the Daily Mirror. "I've been married for 19 years to my best friend... Jamie's my world, so it doesn't bother me at all."
Professional dancer Pasha Kovalev has also spoken out about the curse, insisting his new partnership with newsreader Naga Munchetty won't harm his relationship with Countdown star Rachel Riley, who he met on the show in 2013, when she was still with her husband.
“Nothing could come between with what we have," he told The Mirror. "I don’t even think about things like that. I don’t want to be with anyone else... Rachel is incredible. She is the most beautiful woman in the world.”
