'It's tough to take the plan on the road' - singer Kayleigh after Operation Transformation weight loss fail
It's been a tough week for Celebrity Operation Transformation's Kayleigh Cullinan, who fails to meet her target weight loss on this week's weigh-in.
The former Voice Of Ireland star had a goal of 3lbs to lose but came up short on the scales, dropping only 1lb.
Kayleigh found it tough to focus on her healthy diet in between juggling the tasks for the show and her music career.
"It's been a very long week and it's been very tough. There's a lot going on. I've been working and gigging. It's an awful lot tougher to take the plan on the road," she said.
"You're living in garages and you're trying to be healthy. I didn't make good enough choices."
During a trip to Donegal, the singer made some bad diet picks, eating a Caesar salad and a steak, which did not impress the panel of experts. However, she was still surprised by her 1lb weight loss and said she had expected more.
"To be honest, I expected to hit my target. When I say I went off-plan, I might have had an extra slice of bread or a Caesar salad instead of a green salad," she said.
"I did the best choices I could, but they weren't good enough."
The Dubliner is determined to lose double her target weight loss for next week's show.
"Even from yesterday, I've made changes to certain things," she told The Ray D'Arcy Show on RTE Radio One.
"My target is 2lbs for next week but I didn't hit my target this week, which was 3lbs, so I'm aiming for 4lbs."
Kayleigh began the series weighing 20st 11.5lbs and said she hopes to lose up to seven or eight stone in the long run.
