Is this the real reason behind X Factor exit? Louis Walsh 'to front Ireland's Got Talent'
The real reason for Louis Walsh's X Factor exit has been revealed.
The music manager revealed on Friday night that he was "finished" with the reality singing competition after 11 years, saying he wanted to return to managing bands.
However, according to reports, he will be behind a brand new series, Ireland's Got Talent.
The Simon Cowell backed show will be an Irish version of the hit British and American concepts, according to the Irish Sunday Mirror.
"Simon thinks Louis is the best man to take the reins on the judging panel," a source told the paper.
"He's very popular in Ireland and is the obvious choice; Simon trusts him.
"The show's in the early phases of development and Ireland should be a great new territory for the Got Talent format."
He told TV3's Seven O'Clock Show on Friday night that he would be departing the programme after more than a decade.
"I’m done with X Factor, honestly," he said.
"'I think they are going to change the show. I think they are going to get new faces."
"I know Dermot [O'Leary] is gone - and I don't know who else will be back."
"Simon will probably be back because it's his show. Cheryl [Cole]... I'm not sure. I don't know who else will be back."
