Irish X Factor contestant Ben Quinlan woos Cheryl with roses

An Irish contestant, who features in the first episode of the new series of The X Factor tonight, gave Cheryl Fernandez-Versini roses.
Ben Quinlan, who hails from Killarney, attempted to woo the newlywed with his gesture and judge Cheryl was reportedly impressed enough to vote him through to bootcamp, and join him on stage.

However, outspoken judge Mel B apparently didn't see the attraction.
Speaking on Newstalk earlier today, fellow panelist Louis Walsh said there would be an audition by a "very unusual" Kerryman who is "a bit like Daniel O'Donnell".

It is not yet known how far Ben gets in the competition.
