Irish finalist Lucy O'Byrne on BBC version of 'The Voice' will 'come away proud' regardless of result

This morning on Radio One she told John Murray of her experience on the show.

“It’s been absolutely incredible. It’s the best experience I’ve ever had.

“It’s been amazing. The whole experience. Getting to perform, going from working as an usher in the west end, now here I am getting to do it every Saturday night on BBC1.

“I’ve made amazing friends and got to work with amazing musicians, not just the celebrity coaches but the other contestants.

She said that her mentor Will i Am has been 'fantastic' - and has a real interest in classical music, despite his background in the Black Eyes Peas.

“It’s been fantastic. Obviously we know him as a performer and musician himself and a member of the Black Eyed Peas who you don’t associate with classical music.

“But he’s a producer and an inventor. He just loves music and is fascinated by classical music.

She added that the experience has been one of the best in her life.

“It’s absolutely incredible. Last week Will brought us to O2 to meet Usher. It was incredible, a  once in a lifetime experience.

"Whatever happens on Saturday night I’ll come away proud of myself, and that I did well."
