Today FM presenter Ian Dempsey is returning to our TV screens after an absence of 20 years.
Dempsey, who presented RTE children's show Dempsey's Den/The Den from 1986 to 1990 as well as several other shows, will be joined by Today FM colleague Louise Duffy to co-present The Seven O'Clock Show on TV3.
They will fill in for Martin King and Lucy Kennedy for four days from Monday August 24-Thursday 27.
Martin was this week replaced by Twink and her dog Teddy on the show sofa, the first of a series of guest presenters allowing the main hosts to take a break.
Dempsey will continue to present the Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show on Today FM next week.
"As a presenter I haven’t been on Live TV for 20 years so this should be interesting!" Dempsey said of his return to telly.
"I know that Louise has a lot to talk about but I hope she gives me an opportunity to speak at some stage during the 60 minutes.”
Louise added, "The only thing I miss about my very early mornings is getting to work with Ian every day, so I'm so excited to join him again for a week on the couch on ‘The Seven O'Clock Show’!”
A TV3 spokesperson hinted that Dempsey's old Den pals Zig and Zag may pop in to the studio during the week.
The Seven O'Clock Show airs weekdays at 7pm on TV3.
