Elaine Crowley has admitted that if given the chance, she would not do Celebrity Operation Transformation again.

The TV presenter (40) was a contestant on the series alongside the likes of Gerald Kean and Brenda Donohue last year but doesn’t think she would ever do something like that in the future.

“In hindsight, would I do it again? No. The crew were great but for me it wasn’t a good idea,” she said.

“Psychologically, it can be quite damaging to be weighed in such a manner.

Elaine told how she panicked after she was first invited to take part in the show and began binge-eating.

“While I was in a good place mentally and physically when I was asked to be on the show, when I agreed I began to panic.

“Mentally, it knocked me right back into binge-eating. I thought, ‘well I’m a fatty anyway, so I might as well binge.’

“So I put on weight, lost it and put it all back on again. I wouldn’t put myself under that much scrutiny ever again.”

While the Cork woman did not feel happy in her skin when she turned 30, she had a new perspective when she celebrated her 40th last year.

“Sure, 40 is a daunting age but I’m still here and I’ve seen close friends pass away. Of course, part of me will always want more but the bigger part of me tells me to cop on and enjoy what I have in life,” she told the RTE Guide.
