She may be the new female face of RTE's Republic Of Telly, but Joanne McNally still hasn't met the woman she replaced.

The Dubliner took over the reins from Jennifer Maguire on the hit sketch series last year, but the comediennes have never met.

"I still have never met Jennifer Maguire," Joanne told the Diary.

"We just never bump into each other for some reason."

The Vodafone Comedy Tent at Body&Soul is a glimmering addition to the already outstanding festival line-up that will entertain the masses in the beautiful surroundings of Ballinlough Castle, Co. Westmeath from 17th – 19th June.

Jennifer decided to leave the long-running show after seven years in front of the camera.

The mum-of-one cited her new spin-off sitcom Bridget and Eamon alongside Bernard O'Shea as the reason behind the tough decision.

While she may not move in the same circles as Joanne, Jennifer made sure to wish her well before she took on her old gig.

"She sent out a tweet the night before my start on Republic of Telly, which was really nice," Joanne said.

The Killiney native said she would still love to meet her predecessor - and she reckons RTE should get her on 2fm's Breakfast Republic so the funny ladies can finally sit down and have a chat.

"Maybe they should get me my own slot on Breakfast Republic so we can finally meet," she joked.

The 31-year-old has been kept busy lately with the RTE series. Her controversial Michaella McCollum sketch went down a storm with viewers, and she is set to take on the comedy scene in London this summer.

Joanne will be taking to the stage as part of Vodafone's Body & Soul festival at Ballinlough Castle, on the Meath-Westmeath border, from June 17 to 19.

Other stars performing at the bash include Colm O'Regan, Al Porter and Damien Clarke.

"I can't wait - there are a lot of talented acts there and we should have a lot of fun," said Joanne. As well as Body & Soul,

Joanne will also head to London to perform this summer.
