'I have a genuine fear of dancing' - 2FM's Bernard O'Shea joining Deirdre O'Kane on Dancing with the Stars
Bernard O'Shea has been announced as the second celebrity to take to the dancefloor on Dancing with the Stars.
O'Shea, of 2FM Breakfast Republic fame, joins comedian and actress Deirdre O'Kane in the celebrity line-up for the second season of the hit RTE show.
Nine other contestants have yet to be announced for the series which kicks off in January.
Speaking to RTE, O'Shea said has a "genuine fear of dancing" and said his wife has not forgiven him for not doing the first dance at their wedding.
He added, "If you were to ask me would you prefer to jump out of a plane without a parachute or dance on live television, I’d say how high is the aeroplane?".
Fellow Breakfast Republic host Jennifer Zamparelli took to Twitter to wish him well, in her own way.
"Yep @boshea5 is doin Dancing with the stars. Ahhhhhh AND I’m on maternity leave so can’t slag him. It’s so unfair. That’s just typical him now," she says.
At least we know we can rule her out as a contestant this year.

O'Kane was revealed on Sunday as the first celebrity to join the show. Just three weeks ago she told The Herald that she was not in the running.
"It's absolutely hilarious, it's funny to see the rumours. I presume there's a rumour attached to everyone in the country?" she said. "People obviously really want to know, I want to know actually. I will be watching it for sure."
Presenters Amanda Byram and Nicky Byrne will return for the second season which kicks off on RTE One from 6.30pm on Sunday January 11.
