Holly Willoughby has cemented her position as one of the most famous fans of Love Island by wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with one of the most recognisable quotes of the series.

The ITV2 dating programme, which sees singletons couple up to find love and win a cash prize in a luxurious Majorcan villa, has captured the nation’s attention and has earned itself a legion of celebrity fans.

Willoughby, who sometimes shares her love of Love Island while hosting This Morning, posted a snap of herself in a New Look t-shirt emblazoned with the words “On paper he’s my type” on her Instagram page.

She later deleted the image from her timeline but it was shared by others on the social media site.

The TV presenter had been caught on camera while laughing and pulling the white topical top down to show off the words.

Love Island has become synonymous with an array of dating and romance-related catchphrases, including “my type on paper”, which contestants – most frequently Amber Davies – use to describe someone who they would traditionally be suited to in terms of appearance, height and background.

Other well-known quotes from the current series include “put it/stick it on him/her”, which means to flirt, and “grafting”, which means to work hard to gain the affection of your chosen love interest.

Willoughby is among famous fans of the show including music stars Liam Gallagher, Adele and Stormzy, Hot Fuzz actor Nick Frost and Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has also revealed his backing of the programme, in particular former Blazin’ Squad star Marcel Somerville, in an interview with student website The Tab.
