Heavily pregnant Helena Brady Bates makes it through on The Voice of Ireland

There was mixture of joy and despair on The Voice last night as contestants battled in the live knockout for a place in this year’s quarter final.
The contestants’ fate lay in the hands of their coaches.
Team Una saw a variation of songs performed, ranging from Jessie J to Led Zeppelin, but it was Patrick O’Donoghue with a powerful rendition of Mama Knows Best that won The Saturday’s singer over.
Next up was Kian Egan’s team and, despite being heavily pregnant and due in less than seven weeks, mum-to-be Helena Bradley Bates performance of I Wanna Know What Love Is sealed her place for the next stage.
Una added: “Fair play, your lung capacity is not affected by the baby!”
Antrim native Kieran McKillop was chosen by Rachel Stevens to proceed after his rendition of The Script’s We Cry.
Meanwhile, Bressie opted to go for Emma Humber for his team who performed Bell X1’s Eve, the Apple of My Eye.
