Gillian Anderson has reportedly been cast as Margaret Thatcher in the fourth season of hit Netflix series The Crown.
nderson, who is currently in rehearsals for a West End adaptation of All About Eve, is also currently enjoying positive reviews of her Netflix series Sex Education.
In the latter she stars as a sex therapist whose virgin, teen son, played by Asa Butterfield, enjoys a boost in popularity at school thanks to his mum's profession.
The Sunday Times reports that Anderson has signed up to play controversial former Conservative Prime Minister Thatcher and will begin filming in the summer.

The fourth season will see her star opposite Olivia Colman, who will play Queen Elizabeth II in the upcoming third and fourth seasons, taking over the role from Claire Foy.
The Crown is written by Peter Morgan who previously documented the weekly meetings between Thatcher and the Queen in The Audience, his play starring Helen Mirren as the monarch.
Netflix has not yet confirmed Anderson's casting.
