Fair City's Heather has no limits when it comes to getting what she wants and in tonight's episode she's up to her old tricks trying to get Dr Shane's attention.

The unhinged mum drugs her daughter Ellie again so the dishy doctor will rush to their rescue.

Viewers were left shocked last month when Heather slipped her young daughter sleeping tablets so she wouldn't take attention away from her on New Year's Eve.

Now she's at it again, so can she get her claws into Shane.

His girlfriend Ama, played by Donna Anita Nikolaisen, has been getting tired of Heather always popping up when they try and go for a quiet drink together.

She books a last-minute weekend break in the hopes that they'll finally get some time away from both Carrigstown and Shane's admirer.

But Heather drugs her daughter's food again and Ellie becomes violently ill.

Shane rushes over and Heather almost confesses what she's done but the guilt doesn't last for long when he reassures her that Ellie's illness is not her fault.

He comes back later to check on her and Heather kisses him but Ellie wakes up with a nightmare and stops things before they go any further.

However, it remains to be seen if Shane returns to Ama or comes back looking for more from Heather.

Una Kavanagh, who plays Heather, recently said her character loves her daughter but is mentally unwell.

"Heather adores Ellie and she's intent on keeping her close to her," she said.

"But she's operating on a psychological level that is disturbed and in quite a state.

"She also believes Heather is attracted to Shane because he's similar to her ex-husband.

"He's a doctor and she likes the care and attention Ellie gets from him," she said.

Fair City airs tonight at 8pm on RTE One.
