SHE'S got her big break in a brand new US TV show with a famous director but Eve Hewson, star of The Knick, says she had to force her parents Bono and Ali to sit down and watch the TV series.
The 23-year-old plays a naive nurse from West Virginia named Lucy Elkins who assists a maverick surgeon, Dr John Thackery, played by Owen, in the medical series set in early part of the 20th century.
Crucially, her character has a lot of intimate scenes with co-star Clive Owen.
The series is described as a cross between Grey's Anatomy and Boardwalk Empire and Eve's character Lucy ends up having an intimate relationship with the pioneering doctor.
"When I met the director Steven Soderbergh and Greg, who's one of the producers, they said to me: 'Just so you know, she's going to go down the rabbit hole and your parents aren't going to want to see this'.
"And I called my parents and said: 'I got the part but you're not going to be able to watch it.' They were very excited.
"I made them watch it, I forced them to watch it. I wasn't in the room though.
"They watched every episode - my parents were funny about it but they were really supportive and my mom just kept saying to my sister: 'She's so good'.
"I think my dad had a few moments where he went 'Agh' [and had to cover his face] but they loved the show and they loved Steven's work.
"My dad was like, 'I had no idea there was going to be so much about medicine and it'd be so interesting, it's like Shakespeare'," the young actress revealed.
"That's what he said about the writing so yeah, they're big fans," she added.
Eve is currently in New York filming the second season of the show, which airs on Sky Atlantic, and said it's going to get even more gory.
"It's not a show that you should watch while you're eating your dinner," she told the LA Times.
"I had lots of friends text or call me saying: 'Oh my God, you should have warned me'. You have to make sure you have digested your food when you watch it," she added.
Eve has also recently wrapped filming on cold-war movie Bridge of Spies which also stars Tom Hanks.
