Eoin Macken's back on the Nightshift in the US and series could be broadcast here
He's been taking America by storm with his TV hit Nightshift and now actor Eoin Macken is going to be back for another instalment.
The Herald Diary reveals that the 31-year-old Dubliner's weeknight entertainment show has been commissioned for another series and the cast will start working on it in the coming weeks.
Former Ralph Lauren model Eoin, who previously dated The Saturdays singer Una Healy for two years before setting up home in the US, plays doctor T.C. Callahan in the medical drama.
As soon as the opening episode aired Stateside, it was declared a hit with viewers and was one of only three new productions to be picked up by NBC for their 2014 schedule.
And in addition to bosses at NBC giving the go ahead for another season, Nightshift could soon be available to Irish viewers as it's expected to be picked up by a broadcaster here within months.
Eoin is currently in Mozambique making a documentary for Sightsavers, but will soon be flying back to his base in Los Angeles to start shooting a forthcoming independent film.
The heartthrob first made the transition from modelling to television when he took on a part as drug dealer Gavin Cluxton in RTE's long running soap Fair City in 2008.
He is now fast becoming one of Ireland's biggest exports and is following in the footsteps of silver screen heartthrobs Jack Reynor and Robert Sheehan, by making waves across the Atlantic.
