Irish X Factor hopefuls Sean and Conor Price sailed through their second live show on Saturday with praise from all the judges, but not everyone is on board with the Blessington brothers.

Former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, whose own career kicked off on the ITV talent show, took to Twitter to say, "I like these little Irish lads but enough with the rapping".

His former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan joked, "Stop talking about me like that, I'll rap if I want.  You know I can spit bars."

A back and forth ensued with Louis challenging Niall to "64 bars" and fans calling for a rap battle.

The criticism is unlikely to faze Sean and Conor who impressed on Saturday night with their rendition fo Sia's Cheap Thrills for Latino Week.

Simon, Louis, and Sharon Osbourne praised their rousing rendition and even Nicole Scherzinger's criticism was softened with praise.

"Obviously it's a challenge, you would never expect Bono to be (Mexican singer) Luis Miguel but you guys took on the challenge.

"I think I would have loved it even more if it was more broken down and more how you would do it, I think it was a little bit overproduced."

Their mentor, head judge Cowell, jumped to their defence, explained they had decided on last minute changes for their performance, which left them with just days to prepare.

He added: "Here's why I liked this, the more that people get to know you, the more they will like you.

"I think people are warming to you, I think you're really professional and really committed.

"I like that there's no moaning or anything, you just get on with it, you have fun and it's infectious."
