The big whodunnit is finally resolved on Emmerdale tonight - who shot Robert Sugden?

One of the most evil characters the hit ITV soap has ever seen, Robert has has fans glued to the screen - even now he's laying half dead in a hospital bed.

Actor Ryan Hawley who plays him appeared on Lorraine today and revealed he's enjoying the time out, "It's nice to have a lie down and take it easy, put my feet up.  I've been lying in bed."

However, Ryan was keeping schtum on tonight's big reveal although he did say, "They are going to show everything the audience didn't see from the shooting - whoodunnit and why?

"It's all going to be revealed tonight.  And also there are some other stories that are just going to start as well, some characters you wouldn't expect, and their whereabouts as well."

Ryan described the episode as "fantastic".

It's the 28-year old actor's big break and he said he has been "very lucky" to work with some "fantastic people".

It has been strange, however, playing a villain as Ryan revealed people are more cautious about approaching him.

"People expect me to be horrible and they're cautious of me," he said, adding that he has been approached by fans in the supermarket.
