Eliminated Maia Dunphy says DWTS scores were 'oddly contradictory' after positive comments
Maia Dunphy has revealed she feels "devastated" after becoming the third celebrity to be booted off Dancing with the Stars on Sunday night.
She has also labelled her low scores "oddly contradictory" after receiving positive comments from the judges.
Last week the TV presenter and her dance partner Robert Rowinski were praised for their ‘beautiful, sensual and romantic rumba’ and this week they danced the tango to Hernandos Hideaway by Werner Muller.
After she performed Maia said “this kind of thing doesn't come naturally... but I have embraced it and I have found my stride...".
Can’t deny I’m devastated! Ironically, this was the first week I thought I was safe based on judges’ comments. Until their oddly contradictory scores appeared. Thanks to my #DWTSIrl pals, but especially to my amazing teacher & friend @rowinski_robert He’s something very special.— Maïa Dunphy (@MaiaDunphy) February 5, 2018
Judge Loraine said, "You looked very comfortable and you took on the role ... I would have liked to see more energy in the dance but it was good".
Julian added, “Maia we just saw your inner dance diva...you got into the characterisation for this on point... this is your best dance yet".
Brian was also complimentary, saying, “this is the type of dancing I like...the dancing was good.... I can see the confidence is staring to grown the song may be called Hernandos Hideaway but you certainly didn't hide away."
However, Maia received a total score of 19 points.
After she was eliminated, Maia took to Twitter to reveal that she is "devastated" and added, "This was the first week I thought I was safe based on the judges comments. Until their oddly contradictory scores appeared.
