Don't Tell The Bride is set to return to our screens with a Brazilian carnival themed wedding.
The first episode of the seventh series of the wedding planning show sees Eduardo da Silva, from Brazil, planning his wedding to bride-to-be Paulina Lemke, from Poland.
The couple met five years ago in Dublin through a dating site, and are complete opposites with totally different ideas of a perfect wedding.
While Paulina (22) is a girly girl, who loves fashion, shopping and false eyelashes, Eduardo (24) loves adrenaline sports and going for a pint with his friends.
Being over 5000 miles away from home, Eduardo is determined to bring a flavor of Brazil to the wedding. However, there's one slight problem - Paulina thinks a Brazillian wedding would be “tacky."
Paulina dreams of being a princess in a castle and wants her wedding to be posh, and admits that she doesn’t get the nickname “princess” for nothing.
Paulina loves horses and is determined to have one in her wedding, yet what Eduardo organises is a stripy inflatable horse that he plans to have his bride sit under on a Brazilian carnival style float on her wedding day.
Eduardo knows that if he gets any small wedding detail wrong, Paulina won’t hold back and will “smash everything in her way”, so the pressure is on to impress not just Paulina, but her mother too.
“I’m gonna get killed, not just by Paulina but by her Mum as well," he said.
Don't Tell The Bride starts tomorrow Thursday 1st December on RTÉ2 at 9.35pm.
There are some television programmes that are more like cultural events than light entertainment. A big match, for example, or the final of a long-running talent competition. Well, the 'Late Late Toy Show' is even more than that. In Ireland, it's an annual institution, one that sprung from one short segment in to a hotly anticipated bonanza every advent.
