Dancing with the Stars: Professional dancers put through their paces in rehearsals
The Dancing With The Stars line-up is still to be completed, but the professional dancers are already busily perfecting their foxtrots and salsas ahead of pairing up with a string of celebs.
Hosts Amanda Byram and Nicky Byrne will make a welcome return, along with Blathnaid Treacey who presents the preview show Can't Stop Dancing.
The Dancing With The Stars debut on RTE last January was watched by 645,000 viewers.
Producers, who are still in talks with candidates, hope they will achieve similar figures in the new year.
Professional dancer Karen Byrne, who partnered Des Cahill, revealed they're still great pals.
"Dessie and I keep in touch all the time. He's more curious about who I'm going to get than I am. It doesn't matter if they're young or old, it's about connecting with someone," she said.
"I knew Des was right, from literally the first meet and greet. He was the one who stood out and was speaking to people. I said, 'I wouldn't mind him'. Personality to me is key."
The team will welcome new pro dancer Robert Rowinski, who has competed in five series of the Polish version of the show, winning his final series before leaving.
Also joining them are choreographers Ian Banham, who is new to the show, and Lilia Kopylova.
Dancer Valeria Milova, crowned winner last time with Kerry GAA star Aidan O'Mahony, said: "It would be nice again for both me and my husband Vitali Kozmin to both be in the final.
"Winning last year was a big thing for me. I will certainly try to do it again."
