Coronation Street's Catherine Tyldesley says she's "perfectly qualified" to play a "bunny boiler" on the soap as she took revenge on real-life cheating boyfriend.

The 32-year-old actress plays Eva Price whose boyfriend Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward) is cheating on her with Maria (Samia Ghadie) in the soap.

Her character has suffered messy break-ups in the past when she was betrayed by both Nick Tisley and Jason Grimshaw but it looks like this latest heartbreak will inspire Eva to take revenge.

Chatting about the cheating storyline, Catherine told The Sun Online that she predicts "fireworks".

“I’d love to see Eva in a catfight. There would be weaves going everywhere!”

And actress was able to draw from her own experiences on betrayal as she revealed that she has been cheated on in the past.

“I have been cheated on. I’ve poured nail varnish into game consoles and thrown phones in canals," she admitted

“I’m perfectly qualified to play a woman scorned!”

Thankfully she now enjoys a more content love life as Catherine is happily married to personal trainer, Tom Pitfield and the couple are proud parents to son Alfie (1).

Asked why she thinks her character always seems to get cheated on, she said: "I think she's too full on. She does definitely have the bunny boiler gene, so I think that's gone against her in the past. But Eva has got a heart of gold deep down and she just wants to be loved."

She added: “She has picked players in the past and gone for a certain type of guy so I think maybe she could do with going on First Dates!”
