Coronation Street's biggest fan has had his small Deirdre Barlow tattoo covered by a whopper tattoo featuring the iconic character behind bars.

Martyn featured on the second episode of E4's new series Tattoo Fixers as he popped in to have the name 'Deirdre' in fancy font covered by something bigger and better.

Martyn revealed that Corrie is 'literally my life' and he has a host of soap memorabilia in his flat including a Dev and Sunita's Alahan's wedding album and a life size cut out of Gail Platt.

His favourite character is Deirdre, played by the late Anne Kirkbride, and one drunken night out he got a tattoo of her name while his boyfriend got a matching 'Ken' tattoo.

"One day me and my boyfriend went for a haircut, we were still drunk from the night before, and for some reason I decided to get Deirdre tattooed on my ankle," he said.

Celebrity tattoo artists Sketch, Lou and Jay were on hand to remedy the sorry situation but were shocked when Martyn revealed what he wanted as a cover up - Deirdre behind bars.

He was thrilled with the final result.  "She's my Deirdre" he said.

Tattoo Fixers continues on E4 on July 7 at 10pm.
