Willy Wonka had nothing on Ryan Tubridy as the Late Late Show host launches a competition for coveted Toy Show tickets.

Last year a whopping 200,000 people applied for tickets which are like gold dust give the Late Late studio capacity of just 250.

This year, however, viewers across the country will be in with a chance of winning a pair simply by taking a selfie with the red Late Late Toy Show car, which will travel across the country this week, and posting it to Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #LateLatetoyshow.

The Late Late Toy Show is an annual ratings winner for RTE with last year's programme, featuring a surprise appearance by Ed Sheeran, pulling a whopping 1.357m viewers.

It was the most watched programme of the year, knocking the highly anticipated Love/Hate finale into second place with 1.005m.

Ed Sheeran made a surprise appearance on the show and sang with superfan Aimee Keogh.

The competition launches as producers today hit the road to conduct auditions for wannabe child performers in Cork, Athlone, Sligo, and Dublin.
