Coleen Nolan taking time off Loose Women to 'get her head together'
Coleen Nolan is taking some time away from Loose Women in order to "get her head together".
The 52-year-old star is a favourite on the ITV lunchtime panel show, but has been noticeably absent from the programme over the past few weeks.
And now a spokesperson for the former Nolans singer has revealed that Coleen has cancelled all her appearances following the slew of criticism she has received on social media following her victory on Celebrity Big Brother last month.
Coleen has also had difficulties in her personal life in recent months, and has been very open about the fact her marriage to husband Ray Fensome is in trouble.
"The truth is she needs some time away from the spotlight to get her head together. With so much going on in her family, she just wanted to be at home, so that’s why she cancelled all her appearances over the last few weeks," Coleen's representative told Best magazine.
In addition, the abuse Coleen has been subjected to on sites like Twitter have led to her allergies flaring up - which has made it impossible for her to wear make-up, for fear of further angering her painful skin.
"Coleen is sick of being criticised on Twitter, and now her allergies have flared up, making her skin sensitive to wearing make-up," the rep continued.
"She doesn’t want the scrutiny or heartache of being attacked online for not looking her best."
Coleen revealed her marital problems before heading into the Celebrity Big Brother house, but told her fellow housemates during her time in the house that she was determined to save her marriage, adding: "I will fight for it until there's no fight left in me."
Ray is believed to have recently returned to the U.K. after touring America, with Coleen telling her Loose Women co-panellists she was hoping to have a serious conversation with her spouse upon his return.
"We haven't picked up the phone and spoken to each other, I don't want to do it on the phone, I don't want to ruin his time in America as he's having the time of his life and we've plenty of time to talk about it when he gets back," she explained.
