Clodagh McKenna serving up a new show for America
Chef Clodagh McKenna will be on the menu for American food fans in 2016. She has revealed how she'll be Stateside a lot more this year as she continues building up a name for herself there.
"We are planning on filming a series this year for Irish and American TV," she told the Diary. "But I can't say any more than that."
Clodagh first made her American debut with Clodagh's Irish Food Trails, which was previously aired on PBS and went down well with US viewers.
She also recently appeared on the Rachel Ray Show in New York, and described the experience as "so much fun".
The Cork-born chef joined forces with domestic goddess Nigella Lawson as they swapped culinary tips on the show.
Clodagh said she always makes sure to feature traditional Irish dishes when she appears on the programme.
"I have been a regular chef on the show now for the past year and I love it. It's filming in front of a live audience, which always adds a great atmosphere," she said.
"I mainly cook Irish dishes on the show, traditional with my modern twist."
Last month saw her claiming an accolade in the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards for the best Irish cookbook.
She added how she's now in the process of writing her sixth book.
"I love the whole process of writing a book, the testing of the recipes, the research. It's a very interesting way to spend the day," she added.
