Chris Evans confirms date of TFI Friday 20th anniversary special
Chris Evans has confirmed that 90s favourite TFI Friday will return on June 12.
The ginger-haired presenter revealed he had his "first, proper grown-up production meeting" about the one-off 20th anniversary special on Twitter.
"All went well," he wrote. "TFI Friday will return - live 9pm, Channel 4, Friday June 12 for a ninety minute special. Yahoo!"
The Channel 4 show was the highlight of the week for families in the 90s and Evans has previously stated he would love to revive the show.
Speaking to Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 last year, he said he was up for it until he realised they were a year too early!
"I was completely bang up for it until I did the maths last week and had to phone them and say it's only 19 years next year, it's actually 20 years the year after," he revealed. "I think they still want to go for it and just hope no one notices."
Evans hosted the live show for the first five series from 1996 to 2000, which featured a mix of music and chat and famously caused controversy when Shaun Ryder of the Happy Mondays swore live on air.
Evans currently presents the most popular breakfast show in the UK on BBC Radio 2.
The presenter also posted a TFI video featuring clips from the series to Twitter.
