Cheryl won't sign for X Factor if Nicole Scherzinger is hired, says Louis Walsh
The war of words between Cheryl Fernandez Versini and departing X Factor judge Louis Walsh has escalated.
The 55 year old music manager has accused Cheryl of conspiring to block a return to the show by former X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger.
Speaking to the Sun on Sunday, Louis said, "Cheryl's got a job! Why won't she let Nicole be on the panel this year? Why won't she allow Simon to have Nicole on the panel? There's your f***ing story. That's the truth."
"Because Nicole's good. She won't sign if Nicole signs."
Fernandez-Versini and Walsh had a recent war of words on Twitter after he told Heat magazine that "Cheryl wasn't great last year, she's sometimes lazy and lacks energy. She needs to give more, she can give so much more".
Fernandez-Versini hit back on her Twitter feed.
"I am beginning to wonder if Louis has some kind of an obsession with me," she wrote.
"I mean, this is every year whether I am or am not a part of the show and, by the way, this is the same man asking me what he should say to contestants on our way to the stage because 'he doesn't know'.
"Dear Lou Lou. Try using your mouth to say something positive about something positive."
Louis is championing Nicole for a comeback but also said he would like to see Sharon Osbourne return although it is unlikely because Simon "can't control her".
Although it has not been officially confirmed, it looks like Louis is definitely off the panel after 11 years on the show. His rumoured replacement is BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw (31).
Mel B has also been axed after just one year leaving a second spot open on the panel, presumably for another woman while the presenting gigs for the main show and The Xtra Factor have also been shaken up.
Replacing Dermot O'Leary are Olly Murs and Caroline Flack while Sarah Jane Crawford's replacement on The Xtra Factor has yet to be decided.
