PRESENTER Caroline Flack and judge Nick Grimshaw will both be leaving the X Factor this year, according to reports.

Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw decided he did not want to return to the show over Christmas after negative reviews of his first stint on the show, according to The Sun.

The paper reports Caroline Flack is planning on taking up a role on the West End, leaving her unable to commit to X Factor filming.

However show bosses are already divided on who should replace Nick Grimshaw.

Producers are anxious to sign One Direction star Louis Tomlinson - however Simon Cowell is pushing for the return of Mayo man Louis Walsh.

Cowell felt there was something missing from the show without his longtime friend on the panel - something viewers seemed to agree with as #bringbacklouis trended on social media several times during the series.

The talent show hit its lowest ratings ever during its most recent series, and with ITV acquiring the TV rights to The Voice show bosses are under immense pressure to make this year's series a ratings winner.

While Cheryl looks set to return to the show, less secure is the seat of Rita Ora - who may also follow pal Nick Grimshaw out the door.
