Big Brother 2017 predictions: Are Niall Horan's brother Greg and Michaella McCollum entering the BB house?
Speculation over the cast for the upcoming civilian version of Big Brother is building and one of the names in the potential housemate pot is Greg Horan.
Greg is the older brother of One Direction and solo star Niall Horan, best known for being the dad of Niall's adorable blonde nephew Theo.
Reports suggest the Westmeath man is in talks with BB bosses to take a spot in the civilian house as opposed to the Celebrity series.
BoyleSports have priced Greg at 5/1 to win the reality show, pointing out that "no doubt fans of his famous brother would certainly get behind the Mullingar native".
However, it was previously announced that this year's show will have a 'pairs' theme and it is not known who Greg would pair up with for the show.
It is also expected to have a political theme revolving around Brexit and the British general election, given the design of the BB eye.
The Sun recently reported that the 'Peru Two' - Northern Ireland's Michaella McCollum and British woman Michelle Reid - are in talks to appear together.
The 28-year-olds were convicted of trying to smuggle 24lb of cocaine worth €1.7m out of Peru in 2013 but had their six years and eight months sentences reduced and are now free.
Last year it was reported that McCollum had expressed interest in appearing on the show but was not selected. It is believed Reid is less interested in showbiz. Bagging the controversial pair would be a massive coup for the show.
Another duo rumoured to be in talks with Channel 5 is Stephen and Michelle Beer, of Benefits: Too Fat to Work fame. They reportedly auditioned for producers in February this year.
On the Channel 5 show Too Fat to Work, Stephen, who was 31 stone, couldn't go outside without his mobility scooter and both he and Michelle said they were too fat to work and were living on benefits. They later appeared on Jeremy Kyle where they found out they had both cheated on each other, prompting a brief split. Michelle is Stephen's sixth wife.
Elsewhere make-up blogger Janey Christina Farrell has been tipped as another contestant who will enter the house with her twin sister. She also previously appeared on a Channel 5 show, Little Divas: Tantrums and Tiaras, in which she spoke about spending £15,000 on cosmetic surgery including bum implants, in an effort to look like Kim Kardashian.
She caused controversy because she said she had no income of her own but withheld sex from her fiance Ross until he paid for her surgery.
Another rumour regards Romanian twins Gabriela and Monica Irimia, aka The Cheeky Girls. They rose to prominence following their appearance on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002. The 34-year-old sisters were last seen in 2010 on an episode of This Week talking about Romanian immigration and prior to that they had appeared on Coach Trip and auditioned for Britain's Got Talent.
They may be up against Playboy twins Carla and Melissa Howe who reportedly previously auditioned for Big Brother back in 2011.
While the theme for this year is pairs, there have been some solo stars touted as possible housemates and if they do appear, they'll likely bring a partner in crime.
Dean Salmon, the brother of Love Island's Katie Salmon is one of those names as is plastic surgery addict Rodrigo Alves, otherwise known as The Human Ken Doll, and Dreamboy stripper Lotan Carter.
It looks like the series will kick off on Tuesday June 6 but a start date has yet to be confirmed.
As usual, details on the house are scant, but it looks like this year the house will be more like a "village".
"I can reveal that the big brother house this series is one of Britain's best kept villages," Rylan Clarke-Neal told This Morning.
"We've got cottages, we've got shops. It's very, very different. But is everything as it seems? We promise to show all aspects of British life."
