The deadline for applications to be part of the cast for this year's Late Late Toy Show has been extended by another seven days.

RTE will now accept applications up to September 29 from young performers who want to join Tubridy in studio on the biggest night in the Late Late Show calendar.

The Late Late Toy Show team are heading across the country meet the best young and will hold regional auditions in Cork, Galway and Mullignar in late October.

The team is looking for boys and girls from all over the country who want to be the next John Joe the horologist or Aimee Keogh, who last year met her idol Ed Sheeran in studio.

Now 14-years-old, Aimee has some advice for anyone planning on auditioning for the show: “Be yourself. Don't try to put on an act. Just be who you want to be. I auditioned twice, the first year I didn’t get the call but, when I did get onto the show, I remember my Mam's face when she came into my room to tell me. We were so excited.

"It's every kid’s dream to be on the Toy Show. The atmosphere on the night was amazing, even in rehearsals. It’s indescribable. I'm delighted I got to experience it.”

Host Ryan Tubridy, who always performs an opening number alongside the children, said: "I am really looking forward to hitting the road again and taking the Toy Show to the kids who make it such essential viewing.

"We have unearthed some brilliant performers on our previous trips around Ireland but I'm absolutely positive that there are still some real gems to be discovered."

Auditions are invitation only so any young boy or girl who would like to take part needs to get their application in before September 29.

To apply simply download the application from at, record a short video of yourself showing off your talent (singing, dancing, magic, whatever), put that video on a DVD or USB key, and send your application to The Late Late Toy Show Auditions, PO Box 170, RTE, Dublin 4.
