Loose Women is simple sexism.
The ITV show Loose Women had to be taken off air yesterday after a group called Fathers For Justice stormed the set protesting the "reverse sexism" of an all-women show.
Coleen Nolan and Co were understandably shocked.
The protesters may have picked a good target, but they did so for the wrong reasons.
Loose Women isn't reverse sexism. It's just sexism.
In offering a vehicle exclusively to women, it erroneously suggests that women somehow need cosseting.
RTE once subscribed to that thinking with the exclusively female-focused programme Women Today... in 1979.
Times are different now.
It's just odd that it took Fathers for Justice to highlight that to ITV.
