Presenter Bláthnaid Treacy is gearing up to fill the role of agony aunt to the celebrities taking part in the upcoming series of 'Dancing With The Stars'.

The Wicklow native returns to her presenting duties on the 'Can't Stop Dancing' preview show tonight, but as last-minute preparations get under way she is ready to be a shoulder to cry on for the stars when times get tough.

"Tensions are high and they are all quite nervous. There is definitely a good indication of who is feeling a little bit rattled," she said.

"The guys are the first to dance in week one, so they are super-nervous in one way, but they'll be able to get it done and out of the way.

"In another way, it's worse for the girls because they have another week to wait.

"But I'm a shoulder for them to cry on and they get to release their pent-up woes on me. I'm like their agony aunt."

The male contestants will make their dancefloor debuts this Sunday, but along with the nerves comes a competitive streak. "A couple of them are in the gym down the road and they were all in there trying to get fit and keep up the stamina," the 29-year-old said. "They want to do well and nobody wants to make a show of themselves."

Treacy returns this season for a third time to host the preview show.
