A bride's dream of travelling to her wedding on a magical chariot is quickly crushed in tonight's episode of Don't Tell The Bride.

After being engaged for a decade, Monaghan woman Liza Hanley had long thought about how she would like her wedding to be - a day filled with luxury and elegance.

However, groom Dean Watkin had other ideas, and planned to recreate the 1980s Valentine's disco they never got to go to when they were kids.

Applying the eighties theme to every aspect of the wedding, Dean hired a Ford Cortina to bring his bride to the ceremony, but also wanted to make Liza's dream of travelling by chariot come true.

When finding a chariot in Monaghan proved unsuccessful, Dean decided to take matters into his own hands by making his own.

Liza couldn't hide her surprise when the Ford Cortina pulled up beside the homemade chariot, but little did she know the biggest surprise of all was to come - her wedding was taking place on a boat.

Don't Tell The Bride airs tonight at 10pm on RTÉ2.
