Actor Johnny Ward has promised a pared-back Viennese waltz this week on 'Dancing With The Stars'.

The former 'Love/Hate' and 'Fair City' star appears to have paid close attention to the criticism meted out last week, with his dance partner Emily Barker rethinking their choreography.

Johnny notched up 19 points last week with a foxtrot, but he was criticised for cartwheeling during the routine. In a bid to impress the judges, the pair removed a backflip from their routine amid fears it wouldn't get a great reception.

"It's not 100pc there yet," Johnny told the Irish Independent. "It's movie week this week, but we had to change all the tricks we had planned. Emily wanted the wow factor and we had a backflip in there.

"We took it out because it's just a recipe for disaster with the comments last week."

He said she had a "critical" eye in rehearsal, keeping him on his toes by recording him as he danced.
