Things Twitter learned from Poldark episode 6

The Twitter commentary surrounding BBC One's Sunday night hit Poldark is arguably more enjoyable than the programme itself.

And last night did not disappoint as fans got to grips with episode six, which garnered 5.5m viewers, no less.

Before the programme even began, the BBC announcer caused hysterics when he/she pronounced it as "POLDORK".

Then there was Poldark's shirt-burning, drunken card-playing, and the fact Verity's fella "had something strange going on in his pants".

Despite the heaving bosoms, brooding, and tension of the aforementioned card-playing there was also a smidgen of wit with the best line the series has delivered thus far.

He says, "What is the matter with the women of this family?" to which she replies, "The men".
