'Nothing like a bit of blood on a Saturday' - Donal Skehan slices his finger while chopping live on BBC One
We've all done it, but perhaps not on live television!
Donal Skehan had a unfortunate accident on BBC One's Saturday Kitchen this morning, when he sliced his finger while chopping herbs with comedian Julian Clary.
Ever the professional, the Dublin chef swiftly covered up the mishap by placing his injured arm behind his back, saving viewers from a bloody sight on the Saturday morning programme.
"I'm fine, we'll just crack on through," said Donal after catching his finger on the chopping board.
"It didn't happen. We've just cut my finger and that's okay because this is live television with very sharp knives. We're fine but we'll plate up. I'll crack on through.

Huge thanks for all the lovely tweets on the finger! Thankfully not too deep but ooh that smarts! Love to the @SaturdayKitchen family! 😂☝🏼— Donal Skehan (@DonalSkehan) July 15, 2017
