Katie Hannon moves to radio in latest 'Prime Time' change
There's more change for 'Prime Time' as award-winning journalist Katie Hannon is now reporting across RTÉ Radio One this summer.
This week she presented 'Drivetime' on the station.
The change comes shortly after Fran McNulty departed the team earlier this month. He announced he had been appointed as RTÉ's agriculture and consumer affairs correspondent on June 11.
He said that while he was "so happy and proud" with the new gig he was also "sad to be leaving a great team on 'Prime Time'".
As Ms Hannon focuses on radio, journalist Sarah McInerney stepped into Miriam O'Callaghan's shoes on Thursday night as Ms O'Callaghan is away on her holidays. In the past, other guest presenters included Robert Shortt, Richard Downes and Ms Hannon.
A spokesperson for RTÉ said: "RTÉ staff regularly move assignments, both within the News and Current Affairs division and across the organisation, similar to a lot of companies. It encourages sharing of knowledge and experience in addition to employee development and learning of new skills. Recent correspondency roles announced by RTÉ News were internal competitions open to all suitably qualified staff to apply for if they wished."
