Is Eastenders’ Dirty Den bound for Coronation Street?
It has been a historic week for Eastenders but the soap’s triumph might end with betrayal as one its best known actors might be hitting the cobbles of Coronation Street.
Leslie Grantham who played the notorious Dirty Den in Eastenders has revealed he longs for a soap comeback on rival UTV soap Coronation Street.
“I would like to go into Corrie but I’ve been Den for so long. It’s difficult to get in now if you are well known in another soap,” he told The Sunday People.
“I know Michelle Collins went into Corrie but I’ll always be known as Dirty Den.”
The actor played Den Watts from 1985 until 1989 and reprised his role in 2003 for a further two years. Dirty Den was murdered in the soap by his wife Chrissie Watts in 2005.
Eastenders’ fans this week discovered who murdered character Lucy Beale in the most elaborate who done it storyline in British soap history.
Ian Beale’s son Bobby was established as the murderer in the live episode on Thursday night’s show.
