A Facebook photo featuring members of a family from the Channel 4 series Gogglebox alongside a joke about Isis reportedly prompted a complaint to police.

The post showed Raza Siddiqui, Baasit Siddiqui and Umar Siddiqui, from Derby, in camouflaged outfits, with the caption reportedly reading: “Isis training day, look how happy we look!”

It was shared by Raza, who has appeared briefly alongside Gogglebox regulars Baasit and Umar, according to a report by The Sun. All three were dressed for a paintballing session.

The photo was then flagged to police by one of Raza's Facebook friends.

Derbyshire Police said it was satisfied no offence had been committed but said the force would “offering suitable words of advice”.

A spokesperson for the force told the Independent: "A member of the public contacted us after a photo of three men at a paintball centre in Derbyshire was uploaded to Facebook, referring to the so-called Islamic State terror group.

"We have examined the photograph and are satisfied that the caption was not intended to be taken seriously, and there was no link to terrorism whatsoever.

"We will be offering suitable words of advice to those who uploaded it; however, no offences have been committed and there will be no further police action."

A representative for Gogglebox told the Independent: “The Siddiquis are aware that this post was misjudged and have apologised for their mistake. It will not affect their position on Gogglebox.”

Baasit is an IT teacher, while Umar is a microbiologist at the Royal Derbyshire Hospital. The family have previously explained that Raza only appears occasionally on the show because he works late, with Baasit describing him as "a bit like the fifth Beatle".
