'Girls' star Dunham signs up to be on 'Team Maura'
Maura Higgins has certainly been a hit with 'Love Island' viewers this summer - and that now includes Hollywood star Lena Dunham.
The 33-year-old creator of HBO series 'Girls', who starred as struggling writer Hannah Horvath in the show, moved to Wales recently for work.
The New Yorker has been tuning in to the antics of the 'Love Island' villa in her spare time and it turns out she is a big fan of Longford girl Maura.
Taking to social media, Dunham said she agreed with Maura's standards when looking for a man.
"For you folks in the UK who are binging on 'Love Island' like me, like Maura, I want a partner who can match me, not a coward who thinks I'm OTT, cringey and an attention seeker," said Dunham.
"Team Maura!" she added.
Maura has caught the attention of viewers for her vivacious personality and straight-talking manner.
Meanwhile, it was clear she was glad to see the back of Tom when he was dumped from the island on Thursday night. Tom had not been in Maura's good books when he was caught out talking behind her back, calling her "OTT" and "an attention seeker".
"I was never going to give him another chance, so romantically I'm not sad to see him go," she said.
'Love Island' returns tomorrow at 9pm on Virgin Media Two.
