Gilmore Girls cast reunite after eight years and talk movie dreams: ‘Fans really deserve it’
The cast of hit drama Gilmore Girls have reunited for the first time since the show ended in 2007 and teased fans with their hopes for a movie.
Lauren Graham (Lorelai), Alexis Bledel (Rory) and Scott Patterson (Luke) all gathered in Austin, Texas as part of the ATX TV Festival in the city.
“I’ve missed you @Alexisbledel,” tweeted Lauren Graham, who played Alexis’ mother in the hit Warner Brothers’ series set in fictional town Stars Hollow in Connecticut.
“Got some of the band back together,” she said sharing a photo of several cast members.
Speaking at the festival, Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino said that a film or series on the cards to revive the show which focused on the unusual relationship between mother and daughter Lorelai and Rory.
"I'm sorry, there's nothing in the works at the moment."
"Nobody here hates each other," she said.
"That's very important. If it ever happened, I promise you we'd do it correctly."
"My personal feelings though are that fans really deserve it. They have given us so much love and affection...let's give them a love better back."
Fans of the series were disappointed by the absence of Matt Czuchry who played Logan Huntzberger in the show and Melissa McCarthy who played Sookie in the series.
