The BBC and HBO have released the first trailer for the television adaptation of JK Rowling's The Casual Vacancy, which couldn't be further from the wizarding world of Harry Potter.

In the debit trailer, the quiet town of Pagford slowly turns into chaos after the death of beloved Parish Councillor Barry Fairbrother.

According, to the BBC's statement on the show, there is more to Pagford than meets the eye.

'Behind the pretty facade is a town at war and Pagford is not what it first seems,' it reads.

One of the few links to Harry Potter, which is sure to delight fans, is Dumbledore himself Richard Gambon will be one of the stars of the series.

The Casual Vacancy premieres Feb. 15 on BBC One.
