Fans rejoice as 'The Notebook' is adapted for the small screen

It's the news men all over the world have been dreading.

Plans are afoot to turn the hit soppy movie 'The Notebook' into a television show.

It has proven to be one of the most popular romantic films of all time, and the pressure was on for creators to cash in on its cult status.

Based on Nicholas Sparks book with the same title, the series will follow the love story of Noah and Allie at the beginning of their relationship.

It is rumoured that Nicholas Sparks will be an executive producer on the series.

The head of the CW television network Mark Pedowitz, has confirmed the film based on Nicholas Spark's novel is already in the works.

He said it will be ''set after world war two'' and the old couple played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams will not be shown in an aged state like in the film.

Fans all over the globe have warmly welcomed the news.
