Fair City's Suzie Power: 'My TV mam Heather is evil but in real life I call Una my other mam'
She plays the daughter of twisted Heather on Fair City but off screen schoolgirl actress Susie Power said she couldn't be closer with her on-screen mother.
The Kildare youngster plays the part of Ellie, currently embroiled in a dramatic storyline with her unstable mum, who has just been released from a mental hospital.
Viewers were gripped by Thursday's episode, which saw Heather (Una Kavanagh) jump from the second storey of a shopping centre after a showdown with Ellie and sister Farrah.
The dramatic scenes occurred after Heather attempted to escape with Ellie and was pursued by her concerned family and the gardai, who had been called by Farrah. "I love working with all of my Fair City family: Renee, Bob, Farrah, Hughie and especially Heather, who I call 'my other mother'," Susie told the Herald.
While filming the tense scenes may be draining, the 13-year-old said she loves playing the role of "troubled" Ellie.
"She really, really loves her mum with all her heart and only now is she starting to see that she can't trust her mum as much as she thought.
"Ellie has learned some bad ways from her mum and you could see this the other night, when she actually poisoned her own mother," Susie added.
She was over the moon when her uncle, Johnny Ward, joined the Fair City cast as creepy mechanic Ciaran Holloway, who has been holding Katy O'Brien captive.
"Recently Johnny has been in scenes with me and I love working with him," Susie said.
"Johnny is a cool uncle and we have always had great days out together so it is brilliant."
