Erin McGregor hits back at online trolls: 'I will pray for you'
Erin McGregor has fired back at online trolls who told her that she is disliked by the public.
The Dubliner (36) landed in the bottom two of last week's Dancing With The Stars but was saved by the judges.
The fitness model told her detractors she would "pray" for them after one user on social media left her a comment saying she would be the next to go as "the public don't like you".
As it was International Women's Day, Erin said it made her feel motivated to respond to the comment, which she would usually ignore.
“I rarely respond to the negative messages about me online.
“But today being the day that is in it, I say thank you for breaking me and helping me find my inner strength," she said.
She went on to say she was sorry that people who write negative comments had been "hurt" to make them want to spread such hate.
“Thank you to all the women who came out in my defence. Together we can do or be anything.
“Love to you all, even the haters. I’m sorry you’ve been hurt so badly in your life to be so cruel to others. I will pray for you," she said.
She also shared a quote from renowned author Maya Angelou that read: "You may encounter many defeats, but you will not be defeated."
Erin was honest about her nerves ahead of taking part in the RTÉ series.
She revealed one of her main reasons for taking part was so that she could conquer her fear of what other people think.
Although she landed in the bottom two on Sunday, Erin gave an almost perfect performance with partner Ryan McShane.
The couple earned the highest score of the night with 29 points out of 30 but it wasn't enough to save them from the dance-off, where they beat out model Alannah Beirne and her partner Vitali Kozmin.
