Aidan O'Mahony is dancing on air after becoming a father for the first time. The Kerry All-Star (36) was delighted when his wife Denise Healy gave birth to a baby girl yesterday.
They have named their new arrival Lucia, with O'Mahony taking to social media to share his delight.
"Our little angel joined us at 9am this morning," he said.
But ever the pro, the super-fit star has indicated that he will still be performing on RTÉ's Dancing With The Stars on Sunday, as the programme reaches its final stages.
The couple were inundated with messages of congratulations in the wake of their big announcement.
Many of Aidan's fellow DWTS contestants rushed to send the couple their best wishes.
Earlier this week O'Mahony, who works as a garda, said he couldn't wait to become a dad.
"I'm really looking forward to it because it's such a positive thing. It changes your life for the good," he said.
This week, producers of Dancing With The Stars are introducing a twist as they whittle down the stars from five to four, with a Ballroom Blitz Marathon.
As well as performing their individual main routines, they will take part in a group dance.
O'Mahony will be performing to Cake By The Ocean by DNCE with partner Valeria Milova.
