The BBC's newest reality show is set to frighten and amuse TV viewers, as 10 people battle to stay alive and do their shopping, and other tasks, amongst the undead.

Touted as 'television's most terrifying reality show', I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse sees contestants avoiding the zombies that roam around the shopping centre they'll be staying in. If a contestant is touched by one of the zombies, they become eliminated from the show, which was filmed in the outskirts of Edinburgh.

The series was commissioned by BBC Controller Zai Bennett, who said it's a very big show for BBC Three.

"I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse is a reality event on a huge scale for BBC Three, it promises to be a deadly twist on the genre," he said.

"The magical bit of watching these people with their normal reactions to things in a ridiculous scenario," said the show's presenter Greg James.

"They've got zombies banging manically on the glass while they're worrying that they've dropped some tomato puree outside. They've got that wonderful humour."
