A ‘STAR TREK’ hero has taken a step back in time during a visit to the cafe where he worked while he was a student.

Zachary Quinto, who plays Dr Spock in ‘Star Trek: Into the Darkness’, is currently in Galway for the annual Film Fleadh.

He retraced the journey from where he lived in Newcastle to the Java cafe on Abbeygate Street in the city centre where he worked for a

summer.

“It is incredible to be back. I have not been back in Galway for 15 years,” said the American actor.  He strolled through the city  centre and

chatted to people, while he also conducted an actors'  masterclass as part of the Galway Film Fleadh.

Actress Saoirse Ronan also arrived at the Fleadh last night for a special premiere  of ‘Life's A Breeze’, which stars her dad, Paul.

Directed by Lance Daly, the film also stars Pat Shortt and Fionnula Flanagan.

Ronan will be the subject of a public interview at the Town Hall theater tomorrow.

President Michael D Higgins will also attend the closing ceremony of the Film Fleadh and awards ceremony.
