RTE has announced the five acts that will compete at Eurosong 2013 to win the right to represent Ireland at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden.

Mairead Farrell will mentor Kasey Smith, a former member of girlband Wonderland, who will sing ‘Kiss me there’ written by Drax.

It was widely reported that Farrell’s original act, X Factor contestant Melanie McCabe, had to withdraw due to personal reasons.

Eurovision winning song writer Shay Healy will mentor Inchequin, a trad rock act who will sing their own song, Son Kez/The Last Time.

DJ Mark McCabe will mentor Aimee Fitzpatrick, who will sing ‘Crashing Down’, written by Robert Grace.

Another widely reported name, Zoe Alexis Bohorquez, will be mentored by Niall Mooney.

She will sing ‘Fire’ which is written by her mentor Niall Mooney, Lauren White and Willie Weeks.

Finally Ryan Dolan, mentored by Stuart O’Connor, will sing ‘Only Love Survives’ – a song which Ryan co-wrote with Wez Devine.

The songs will be debuted tomorrow on the Derek Mooney show on RTE radio 1 after 3pm.

The 2013 Eurovision song contest takes place in Malmo, Sweden, following the victory of Loreen in Azerbaijan last year.
