Rita, Harry and Bob too at hip Cafe H, Grand Canal Dock
They don't call her Lovely Rita for nothing. Harry Crosbie's missus is marking her birthday on Tuesday with dinner with Harry. Dining with one's husband? Whatever will they think of next?
Rita will follow this with a big girls' lunch on Friday at her restaurant Cafe H on Grand Canal Dock. Bob Geldof was in the same hip eaterie on a recent Thursday until 1am. The Boomtown Rat brings cheer wherever he goes, does he not?
On Wednesday, there will be plenty of the latter - Christmas cheer, that is. . .
TV3 stars Alan Hughes, Sybil Mulcahy and Sinead Desmond are expected, among many others, at 25 Fitzwilliam Place as Tesco throws a party, ostensibly to unveil its Christmas range. So expect to see lots of well known faces chowing down next Wednesday.
Celia Holman Lee, among many other famous faces, was at The Limerick International Fashion Student Awards in St Mary's Cathedral in Limerick last Thursday. Our fab fashion editor Constance Harris was one of the judges along with fashion designer Synan O'Mahony and Claire Breslin from Brown Thomas (one of the sponsors.) The prize was a whopping €10,000, and a super day was had by all.
And great entertainment was also had yesterday at the Scary Saturday event in Blackrock. This family fun afternoon with a Halloween theme (organised by Rathdrum/Dun Laoghaire council and representatives of the local business community, chief among them Jim Kenny, owner of Centra in Blackrock) was a huge success. All this talk of Tesco, Centra and Brown Thomas makes me feel like going shopping.
I'm a one-man recovery for post-recession Ireland, aren't I? Well, someone has to do it.
